PM Vishwakarma Yojana 2025
The PM Vishwakarma Yojana is a new yojna launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Vishwakarma Jayanti, 17 September 2023. PM Narendra Modi announced this scheme on 15 August 2023. Its main purpose is to help traditional artisans and craftsmen enhance their work with financial support.
Under this scheme, these artisans and craftsmen will be officially recognized as ‘Vishwakarma’ and will get different benefits and support. They will also receive training to enhance their skills and learn to use modern tools to work better ahead with a stipend. Additionally, they can get loans without providing any security, and the Indian government will pay part of the interest on these loans.
This scheme will provide a venue for them to promote their work and help them connect with markets. It will also authorize them to use digital tools and find new opportunities. The PM Vishwakarma Yojana is an important process for supporting traditional craftspeople and craftsmen in enhancing their livelihoods.

PM Vishwakarma Eligibility 2025
Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana initially has 18 kinds of artisans/craftsmen specified to benefit from this scheme. These artisans or craftsmen work with their hands and tools in the cluttered sector, running their businesses alone. To be eligible for registration under the PM Vishwakarma yojna, they must be pledged in one of the following 18 family-based traditional professions.
Barber, Lohar (Blacksmith), Carpenter, Boat Maker, Armor Maker, Hammer and Tool Kit Maker, Locksmith, Goldsmith, Sculptor/Stone Carver/Stone Breaker, Potter, Fishing Net Maker, Cobblers/Shoemakers/Footwear Artisans, Weavers/Mat Makers/Coir Weavers/Broom Makers, Doll and Toy Makers (Traditional), Garland Makers, Masons, Basket Makers/Basket Washermen, Tailor
Eligibility Criteria of the Vishwakarma Yojna
- The beneficiary must be 18 years old at the time of registration.
- The beneficiary should be actively involved in the appropriate trade at the time of registration. They should not have taken a loan under an equivalent credit-based yojna of the State Government or Central Government scheme in the last 5 years.
- Registration and benefits under this yojna can be benefited by only one member of the family.
- People working in government services and their family members are not eligible under this yojna.
PM Vishwakarma Scheme Benefits
The Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma scheme offers several benefits to its beneficiaries. Let’s discuss them one by one, as provided below.
Recognition
Beneficiaries get recognition as Vishwakarma via a certificate and ID card. This allows them to showcase their skills and earn employment opportunities.
Skills Training
Basic exercise lasting 5-7 days is provided with the option for interested candidates to enroll in advanced training for 15 days. During training, players get Rs 500 per day as support.
Toolkit Grant
After training, Players get Rs 15,000 to purchase the required tools and equipment to kickstart their work.
Loan Assistance
Initially, beneficiaries get a security-free enterprise development loan of 1 lakh rupees, repayable within 18 months. Timely refund allows them to access a second loan of 2 lakh rupees, with a repayment period of 2.5 years. These loans carry a concessional interest rate of 5%, with the government protecting credit warranty fees.
Incentive for Digital Transactions
Beneficiaries are prompted to transact digitally, with Rs 1 provided per transaction (up to 100 transactions) each month.
Marketing Assistance
The yojna offers support in National Marketing Committee Quality Certification, Branding & Promotion, Trade Fairs advertising, E-commerce linkage, and other marketing activities to help beneficiaries promote their products and services effectively.

Get 500 Rupees Per Day under PM Vishwakarma Scheme
Basic training lasting 5-7 days will be provided on the selected trade of the artisan in their selected location. Artisans can also enroll in advanced training for 15 days; during this training, beneficiaries will receive 500 rupees per day as support. The timing and location for training will be informed later by the training institute.
Vishwakarma Yojana Loan Payment
Artisans will get a security-free/collateral-free enterprise development loan of 1 lakh rupees, repayable within 1 and a half years. Timely repayment allows them to access a second loan of 2 lakh rupees, with a repayment period of 2 and half years. These loans assume a concessional interest rate of 5%, with the government protecting credit guarantee fees.
Vishwakarma Scheme ToolKit Incentive
After the Basic or advanced training, beneficiaries will receive 15,000 Indian rupees to purchase the required tools and equipment to kickstart their work. This is a non-repayable grant for purchasing tools for their profession.

What are the eligibility criteria for the Vishwakarma Yojna?
Eligible beneficiaries must be artisans or artisans working in one of the designated trades on a self-employed foundation in the unorganized sector.
